Sick Mother and Daughter

Just when I'm about to go back to work, Xin Rui developed a high fever of 39.6. She was also coughing and having a runny nose at the same time. She slept most of the time and cried for a long time when we fed her the medicine. Again, we had to force feed her and it's painful to watch. Sigh. Luckily, she was much better the next day but I fell sick instead. Xin Rui was back to her energetic self and running around the whole house while poor me had to run after her to ensure she did not get herself into any danger. By the end of the day, I was too sick and exhausted and finally flared up when Xin Rui played with the dog's water bottle and toppled it, causing a mess. I finally hit her on her hand a few times and scolded her. Amazingly, she did not cry on the spot. Instead, she looked down on the floor and kept quiet. But soon, she cried and gestured for me to carry her, which I refused and put her in the high chair instead. But when you see her crying pitifully for so long, you can't help but soften and hug her instead. Sigh....

Somehow, Xin Rui's cough seemed to be worse at night and she was tossing the whole night and Xin Lin decided to join in and cry every now and then due to the heat. We couldn't switch on the aircon for fear of aggravating Xin Rui's condition. So, in the end, Xin Lin and Xin Rui both slept together with me and my hubby on our bed and my poor hubby and I were banished to one corner of the bed each to make space for Xin Lin who likes to kick all around her and Xin Rui who likes to toss around. Sigh....
