Little Miss Greedy

My little princess is greedy, there's no doubt about it. Nowadays, she can finish a bowl of porridge all by herself, with absolutely no help from me. Previously, I couldn't stand the mess that she creates whenever she eats on her own and I will try to feed her instead. But little Miss Stubborn refused to be fed and insist on eating on her own. So I will clean as she eats and drops her food all over the place. That's not very environmentally friendly as I used a lot of tissue paper to clear up the mess.

But I've since learnt not to clean as she eats. Instead, I bought a No-Mess bib online where the bottom is folded up and will hold most of the food that Xin Rui drops. And because it's waterproof, I can just wipe it clean after she's done. It's a win-win-win situation. Xin Rui is happy to eat on her own, I can eat my own meal without waiting for her to finish and best of all, I don't have to kill so many trees. But of course, my little princess Xin Rui still gets bits of food on her hair, neck or hands. Somehow, she likes to put her hand on her face or neck, so that's how the food ended up on those places. Hahaha!

Xin Rui really amazes me with the amount of food that she can eat. She can literally eat one BIG bowl and I mean really big bowl for a kid because it's almost adult portion. After which, she can still managed to stuff 1-2 pieces of bread and some fruits. It's as if her stomach is never full and sometimes, I worried about her getting too full. Despite eating so much, she doesn't seem to put on a lot of weight. I wonder where all the nutrients went??? However, even though she eats almost anything, there are times when she will try to dig and spit out those stuffs that she doesn't like from her mouth. Hahaha.

"Mummy, see?? I am a big girl now. I can eat on my own."

Scooping up the food carefully...

Xin Rui's different poses while eating, hee!
