Xin Rui is 2 Years Old!

Finally! My little princess Xin Rui is 2 years old! My hubby and I took leave yesterday to celebrate her birthday. We went for a photoshoot in the morning, hoping to capture the girls' cutest moments when they are still young. But alas, Xin Rui was not in a good mood and was quite uncooperative. So we didn't manage to take much good photos of her. Still, I refused to give up and went to Botanic Gardens to try to take some photos of her. But I still wasn't able to take any good photos. Sigh...Nevertheless, Xin Rui seems to have a good time feeding the fishes in the pond. Hahaha!
Xin Lin looking grouchy and hubby looking tired in the hot sun...

"Mummy, when can I go home to sleep?"

Some green beak bird that my hubby spotted at the garden.
We suspect the beak is green because of algae. Haha!

We went back home to rest in the afternoon but the two little monsters simply refused to sleep. Sigh...In the evening, we waited for the rain to stop before going to my brother-in-law's place to celebrate Xin Rui's birthday. We bought a cake with a picture of Stitch on it from Polar. The cake is pretty nice but Xin Rui looked at the cake and say 'Elmo' instead. Hahaha. Anyway, she seems to enjoy the cake pretty much and again, I didn't have the chance to take photos of Xin Rui with the cake cos she was stuck to me like glue. Sigh...

Xin Rui's yummy cake...

Nowadays, Xin Rui likes to hum and sing songs at home. She has been singing some new songs, eg. Ke4 Ren2 Lai2 (or at least the lyrics sounds like it but the melody is totally different) which we suspected that she learnt at the child care centre. She is able to recognise people by their names and can call me 'Mummy' and my hubby 'Daddy' and 'Ah Ma' and say her cousin's name. She can also say Munk Munk's name and tell him to sit. Hahaha. When Xin Lin roams around in her walker and knocks into her, she will say 'No, Mei4 Mei4, No!' It's so cute to hear her. Even when Xin Lin is only nearby and did not knock into her, she will still say 'No, Mei Mei, No!' and push her walker away. Hahaha!

Recently, she has also started to say goodbye in slang. Instead of her usual 'Bye1 bye1', she will say 'Bye3 bye1'. Hahaha, We were quite surprised when we heard her say it that way and she's started to throw flying kisses like nobody's business. Previously, she will put her hand to her mouth and produced a kissing sound but now, she will throw her kisses out. Hee!

But she's still a stubborn cow and terribly clingy to me. She will always want to be carried by me when I'm around and insist on eating or getting things she wants or else she will cry and throw a tantrum. She has already threw 2 tantrums last week, once at home and once at a shopping mall. After being a parent of two, I've learnt to be very thick-skinned and ignore stares from the public when Xin Rui throws a tantrum. I just hope things will get better as she grows older and hopefully her little sister, Xin Lin will not follow her footsteps :P
