I've seen several changes in Xin Rui ever since she went to childcare. She's still clingy to me (something that cannot be changed) but she will allow me to hold her hand and walk for a short period of time before she decides to be carried instead. She will say 'smile smile' in mandarin when I take out the camera to take a photo of her. She will even give me a sweet smile, strike a pose and tip her head to the side. So adorable. But my stupid camera is not fast enough to capture her sweet smile. Sigh.
She's also beginning to recognise the numbers 1 -10 on books and TV. It kind of surprised me when she saw some numbers on TV and started to say 1,2,3,4,5... though she cannot recognise which number is which, at least she knows that they are numbers :) That goes to show that my efforts to keep repeating all the numbers and alphabets in those books are not wasted. Hee!
And apparently, she behaves really differently when she's with us and when she's with my in-laws. She will eat her meals on her own obediently and sleep early at my in-laws' place. But at home, she will cry and sleep very late. Perhaps it's because she's jealous of her little sister Xin Lin and feels neglected. So most of the time, I ended up carrying and comforting her instead of attending to Xin Lin. I feel a little guilty for that and though I miss Xin Rui terribly when she's staying at my in-laws' place during the weekdays, I'm also a bit thankful. Thankful for the fact that I finally have some time with Xin Lin alone. It feels like we were back to the time when we just have one baby and all our attention can be showered on her and her alone. Poor Xin Lin had to 'fight' for attention the minute she came to this world Though she does not show her jealousy as much as Xin Rui, she will still complain and cry when she sees me carrying Xin Rui sometimes. Hahaha!
