My little terror, Xin Rui turns 22 months old today! Can't imagine that she'll be 2 year old in another 2 months' time. She's a healthy and active toddler, climbing up and down our furniture everyday. I wonder if I used to do that and drive my Mum nuts when I'm as young as Xin Rui? If I did, it's really retribution loh. hahaha!
Xin Rui loves to sing and dance. Nowadays, she has new dance steps that include nodding her and flapping her arms, as if she's high on drugs. Hahaha! She's singing more and more new songs like Old MacDonald's Farm and some Chinese children songs. Though she can only see part of the songs, it's fun to see her trying to catch the lyrics when I sing to her. She will know that she's singing the wrong lyrics at times and watch me mouth the lyrics for her. Hahaha! Xin Lin will also be a good listener and get all excited and happy when Xin Rui and I sang together :)
Xin Rui surprises me by blurting out new words every now and them. Sometimes, it'll be words that I've taught her and she refused to say or words that she somehow learnt from TV or at the babysitter. I've always wanted her to call me Mummy and so far I've only heard it a few times. But one day, she suddenly walked into the kitchen to look for me and kept calling me 'Mummy, Mummy, Mummy' in the sweetest voice. In that instance, my heart melt and I gave her a big heart. Such a darling :)
She's also able to express herself much better, eg, she will nod or shake her head when you ask her whether she wants to drink milk, brush her teeth or eat anything. However, there are still times when she will cry and whine and put her finger near my mouth to indicate something. Till now, I'm still not quite sure what it means. Hahaha!
Xin Rui has no problem with wearing and taking off her shoes as it's become a daily habit. But she will throw her shoes around after taking them off. So recently, I've started to train her to take off her shoes and put them back into the shoe cabinet and was successful quite a few times. I've also tried to train her to bring both my hubby and my shoes to me to put into the cabinet. She has no problem with bringing mine but she's has slightly more difficulty in holding my hubby's leather shoes as they were pretty heavy. Hahaha. Thereafter, I will reward her. Her 'reward' is being able to wash her hands at the basin. Somehow, this is some thing that she loves doing nowadays and will cry if we 'deprive' her the chance to wash her hands or rather with water. Haha!
Can't wait for Xin Rui to go to playgroup next year, which will happen in another 2 weeks plus. Wonder if she can get used to her new schoolmates? I'm crossing my fingers.....and toes :P
