Visit to Doc Again

Last week, we noticed that our little princess had a little red patch just behind her ear on her scalp. But we thought it's because she always like to scratch her head, so that why it was so red. So we didn't think much of it. But a few days later, it seemed to be worse and it spread to her ear tips. Realising that it could be serious, we decided to bring her to see the doctor.

As it was a walk-in, we had to wait a long time before it was our turn to see Dr Terrence Tan. Xin Rui was grouchy and tired and she kept making a lot of noises. I think she was the 'loudest' baby at the clinic. When she stopped making noises, you could actually hear that the clinic is pretty quiet, except for some soft talking. Hahaha! That's how loud my baby can be. Nowadays, she likes to talk a lot and for some reason, quite loudly too. She likes to say 'Ba, ba, ba, ba' and 'A-bu-bu-bu-bu' nowadays. Or she will go 'ehhhhhhh' or 'ahhhhhhh' continuously and loudly. Haha!

Ok, back to to clinic, when we finally saw the doctor. He didn't even ask what's wrong and straightaway saw Xin Rui's ear. He said it's a soft issue infection and it could spread all over her face if we did not discover it early. Fortunately, we brought her to see the doctor in time and it could be contained. The doc explained that the body initially was fighting against the bacteria and it was too strong for my little one, so it spread to her ear tips when it came into contact with the wound. It can be quite painful and itchy for the baby. He prescribed a pretty strong anti-biotics for her and explained that it could cause loose stools. He also gave some ointment for us to apply.

The anti-biotics that gave Xin Rui very loose stools...

Back at home, the little princess did not seemed to be in much pain other when we apply the ointment on her wound. She did not like the medicine much but we had to make sure she complete the course. Sigh. It's a torture to force feed the medicine and there's still at least a quarter bottle more to go. Well, at least now Xin Rui is doing well and we can hardly see the red patch anymore. Gambatte, Moo Moo!
