Naughty Moo Moo

Xin Rui is getting naughtier and naughtier everyday. Besides crying for milk or change of diaper, she will also cry or wail for attention and refuses to sleep at night. And when she wails, she sounds just like the mandrake plant in the Harry Potter story book, except she's definitely much more adorable. Hahaha!

After being a mother for more than 6 months, I've discovered ways to stop my baby from crying, at least it works on my baby.

1) Carry and gently rock Moo Moo (obviously, this is the most straight forward and fastest way to stop her crying, hahaha!)

2) Feed her milk or water (works every time unless she's not hungry or thirsty)

3) Give her something to bite, eg a chewing toy or hanky (note: baby will sometimes cry even louder if the hanky or toy is removed from her later)

4) Hold up my fingers and count from 1 to 5, placing emphasis on the number 5 and waving my hand at the
same time (amazingly, this works every time and Moo Moo will stop crying immediately and smile, but the effect is only temporary, I use this to distract Moo Moo when my hubby is preparing the milk or water for her)

5) Put Moo Moo on our bed (I think she feels neglected and lonely in her own bed, so placing her in between my hubby and I makes her feel more secure)

6) Hold her close to me and sing softly to her while patting her on the back (this works most of the time)

7) Holding her upright (I think the different view of scenery distracts her and stop her crying)

8) Play peek-a-boo (works almost every time unless she's not interested in playing)

9) Show her the dog (yes, she's always amused by my dog, Munk Munk and she will laugh at him whenever she sees him playing with his ball or when I play Hi-5 with him)

10) Last but not least, throw her to my hubby (when I'm truly tired, I throw the crying baby to my hubby. Hey, men can also help take care of babies, right? And my hubby does a good job. Hehehe!)
