Anyway, back to Xin Lin. This feisty little one already knows how to cry when you take away the remote control from her mouth. But she also knows how to stop when you gently reprimand her sometimes. Just yesterday, she wanted to crawl out of the bedroom to look for her Daddy. Then I saw her and ask her where she is going. She immediately lay down and put her head on her hands and sort of 'pretend' that she's sleeping and not going anywhere. Hahaha! It was so funny to watch her. But shortly after, she started to crawl and want to wander out of the bedroom again. There was another time when I left her on bed and surround her with pillows. After a short while, I heard her cries. Scared that she might have fallen off the bed, I was instead surprised to see her clinging on to the mattress for her dear life. Half of her body was over the bed, but she realised that the mattress was taller than the other side of the mattress that's on the floor and which she usually use to climb to reach our bed. So she clinged on as best as she can and cried for help. I tried to release her grip on the mattress but she was still holding on to the mattress tightly. Think she's really scared she will fall. Hahaha!
This reminds me that Xin Rui did something similar when she's around Xin Lin's age. Hee! Though both of them are very different when it comes to character, yet in several ways, both of them are still somewhat similar, be it appearance or certain behaviour. Hee! Xin Rui is smiley and will readily smile at most people, sometimes, waving to total strangers too. But Xin Lin is more serious and she will stare at you for some time as if she's scanning her database to see if she has met you before or as if deciding if she likes you or not. There was once my mum was carrying her and waiting for me to change Xin Rui's diaper. There was a lady selling newspaper outside and wanting to play with Xin Lin. Xin Lin refused to look at her and tried to hide her face. Hahaha! That was so funny. But when Xin Lin doesn't smile, she can look very serious and somewhat fierce. I've encountered people saying that she looks serious and fierce. Actually if you can be patient and give her a bit of time to warm up, she will reward you with the sweetest smile on earth :)
Xin Lin still likes to scratch her head and ear from time to time, somthing I simply cannot comprehend. Well, as long as she doesn't hurt her scalp and ear, I'm fine with her scratching. But she does like to sort of pinch people. She doesn't mean it but she just discovered the joy of opening and closing her fingers, so nowadays, I try my best not to 'siam' her fingers. Hahaha! She also loves to play peek-a-boo and is easily tickled when you just turn your head suddenly to look at her. Ahhhh..how easily contented babies are. For now..at least....
