Vaccinations Again

We brought Xin Rui and Xin Lin for their vaccinations yesterday morning. Initially I was concerned that Xin Rui might not be able to have her jabs because she had fever and runny nose a few days ago and the runny nose spread to Xin Lin. But Dr Tan said it was alright as long as she wasn't having fever that day. So Xin Rui had two jabs and Xin Lin only had one. I could feel Xin Rui being a little scared as the PD gave her the shots and she cried, like one second after she was injected cos Dr Tan was very swift. When it came to Xin Lin's turn, she wailed even before the needle touched her. She wailed loudly as soon as Dr Tan rubbed her thigh with alcohol swab and pinch it a little for the injection, hahaha! Fortunately for Xin Rui, this will be her last two shots until she goes to primary school. For poor Xin Lin, she has a couple more to go....sigh....

Xin Lin now weighs a hefty 7.31kg, much heavier than Xin Rui when they were around the same age. But she's a little shorter than Xin Rui, measuring 62cm. I remembered Xin Rui was around 64cm then. Now Xin Rui is 82cm and weighs 9.9kg, which means Xin Lin is fast catching up with Xin Rui's weight. Hahaha. Dr Tan was happy with the overall development of Xin Lin, especially her strong neck and legs. She's also very responsive.

As for Xin Rui, Dr Tan was more concerned whether she's communicating well for that could be an indication of autism. Fortunately, Xin Rui has the 'social intent', as Dr Tan said. She will blabber and point to things that she wants and say a few simple words. Phew...

And as expected, both Xin Lin and Xin Rui had mild fever. Xin Lin's temperature was a little higher than Xin Rui as we fed Xin Rui fever medicine before she slept. But we didn't give Xin Lin any cos she just had her rotavirus medication. Fortunately, they are both fine now. Though Xin Lin now has a little blocked nose. Hopefully she will be fine soon...
