My little princess Xin Rui turned 17 months old two days ago. But as I was busy visiting my mum at the hospital, I didn't have time to update the blog.
Anyway, Xin Rui is sometimes able to say 'mum mum' when she wants milk. She will also bring her book to me and gesture for me to read to her. I think she has a keen interest in books. No matter whether it's just a storybook or even a brochure or magazine, she will flip through the pages earnestly. It's really cute to watch her 'read'. I'm contemplating to buy her some books instead of borrowing from the library all the time. But perhaps I will do that when she's a little bit older as she tends to get tired of the books easily. But there's this one book which seems to fascinate her. I borrowed this book which teaches her the different colours and there are different babies wearing or holding different colour stuffs. Normally her attention span is quite short, but when I will flip through the pages with her and tell her what colour it is, she will sit beside me and listen to me :)
Xin Rui is also able to kiss us when we asked her to. Sometimes, she will kiss us on the cheek with her lips, but sometimes, she will kiss like an ang moh, ie, using her cheek to touch our cheeks but giving a loud smooching sound. Awww.....so adorable....
Nowadays, she is also more vocal and expressive. She will bring toys/books to us and ask us to play/read to her or make some sounds for her to carry her or give her the things she want. But when she does not get the things she want, she will simply sit down on the floor, no matter where she is, especially when I want to hold her hands and she prefers to walk on her own instead. Sigh... Just a few days ago, she was still ok with me holding her hands, then she suddenly decided that she's a big girl and can walk all by herself or walk up and down the stairs by holding on to the rail. Hahaha! My girl is indeed growing up fast :)
