My hubby and I went for my first gynae checkup two days ago. I was feeling a bit nervous as I would be doing my first ultrasound scan for Little Moo Moo.

Waiting for our turn at At C.H. Koh Clinic For Women
We went for lunch before going back to tthe clinic to see the doctor as we knew it was going to be at least 1 hour before our turn. Our queue number was 847 and by the time we went back to the clinic, the queue number was 845. So we waited for another 20 minutes or so before we got to see Dr Koh. As usual, he was humorous in his own way but my hubby and I sometimes couldn't differentiate if he was joking or serious. But he was serious when explaining the important stuffs to me. So I guessed I can take his humour. Haha.
Then we did our first ultrascan and here's our first introduction to Little Moo Moo! Moo Moo is only 2.81cm long and I couldn't help but smiled when I see Moo Moo for the first time. So tiny. Then Dr Koh let us hear its heartbeat. It was loud and fast. Actually, it didn't really sound like a heartbeat to me but it was evidence enough that Little Moo Moo exists in my womb. Up till now, I still had a little doubt that the pregnancy test kit might be inaccurate or the GP might have been wrong about my pregnancy. But seeing Little Moo Moo's ultrascan photo and hearing his heartbeat cleared all my doubt. I was relieved to hear its heartbeat. It's quite difficult to describe the feeling when seeing Moo Moo for the first time and hearing its heart beat so rapidly.

Introducing Little Moo Moo!
Dr Koh also prescribed utrogestan (a kind of hormone to minimise the risk of miscarriage) and more folic acid. I heard that I might have to pop more pills after my first trimester. Well, anything for Little Moo Moo.

More pills to pop
Dr Koh also recommended a basic test for Down's Syndrome which costs $140 but only 60 - 70% accurate and the OSCAR test which cost $350 but is about 80 - 90% accurate. Not wanting to take any risks, we decided to go for the OSCAR test in 3 weeks' time. Gosh, having a baby is really going to be expensive :P
