Xin Rui has been interested in the phone for quite a while but she normally does not speak when holding on to the phone. She will just keep quiet and listen to the person talk at the other end. However, she asked my MIL to call us yesterday. I think it's because she misses us too much. So when I started to talk to her and asked her questions, I was quite surprised that she replied or rather repeated some of the words I said. Her voice is the sweetest music to my ears, almost angelic. :) The conversation with her goes this way:
Me: Xin Rui, 你吃饱了吗？
Xin Rui: 吃。。吃饱了...
Me: 有没有乖乖听话？
Xin Rui: 有。听话...
Me: 要不要唱歌？两个小娃娃呀，正在打电话...。
Xin Rui: (Sang along with me) ....两个小娃娃呀，正在打电话...
Me: Do you want to sing the ABC Song? A B C D E F G.....
Xin Rui: (Sang along with me).....A B C D E F G......
After singing several other songs....
Me: Xin Rui, 迟了，要睡觉了喔。
Xin Rui: (Silence)
Me: I'll call you tomorrow, ok?
Xin Rui: (Silence)
Me: Bye Bye, Xin Rui.
Xin Rui: (Started to cry loudly and uncontrollably)
Then i tried my best to console her but she wouldn't stop crying. Sigh. So we ended the call after hearing her crying for 5 - 10 minutes. I could hear my MIL consoling her and asking her not to cry. But she just couldn't stop. It breaks my heart that I'm not able to be with her and to hear her cry so pitifully when all that she wants is just to see me and my hubby. Sigh...hopefully we can find a flat near my in-laws really soon and bring Xin Rui home everyday and spend time with her. That's my only wish for now.
